Me and my best friend Luigi drove up from Jersey City to see Nothingface play a small club/bar in Syracuse sometime in 2001. The 1 bouncer watching the stage was cool as all hell. We bullshitted all night and I asked him if i could stagedive when Nothingface was on. "No problem, just don't campout on the stage too long." I have seen Nothingface live before, so I was well aware of the small interlude in the middle of Villains to close out their set... This would be the time I'd jump on the stage. I ran up with my camera, took pictures with Matt, danced around, and tried to time it perfectly to when Matt counted down for the big breakdown in Villains. I was so excited and in the moment, I just reacted, jumped into the dark crowd, and quickly realized I was about to wipe out on the floor head first! Somehow I didn't get hurt, jumped up and continued to go wild. After the set, I was aloud back on the stage and Matt came up to me saying "Dude! You ok? You took a nice spill there!" I'm like "What? Ohh yeah, I'm fine." We hung out backstage for a little bit. They talked to every fan that hung around, signed whatever anyone wanted to sign and took pictures with everyone. Great time! Great fans! Great band! One of many fond memories I have of seeing Nothingface all over the northeast...
